I am a retired RN who loved my 40-year career in critical care and college education of nursing students. I have supported and followed the evolvement of MAID for many years.

I have been present for a MAID death as my best friend of 50 years chose MAID after her terminal diagnosis of cancer metastasis from a primary breast cancer diagnosis 20 years earlier. I was honoured to be present for her. The procedure was professional, honourable and comforting and calm. I will be forever grateful for this experience.

I feel we are so fortunate to have access to those wanting to choose their end-of-life narrative with MAID.
