Kathy
Kathy Sinclair’s life took an unexpected turn after both of her parents chose MAID just two months apart. Surrounded by love, peace, and dignity, they were able to have the ending they wanted – something Kathy fully supported.
Despite 38 years of experience as an ER, OR, and Organ Retrieval Nurse, nothing could have prepared her for the days and months that followed their deaths. The grief was complex and often isolating.
While searching for support online, Kathy discovered MAID Family Support Society and Bridge C-14. Within those communities, she found a safe place to share the fears, guilt, pain, and many emotions that can follow a MAID loss.
Today, Kathy is honoured to give back as a peer volunteer with the organizations that helped her through one of the most difficult times in her life. She hopes that by sharing her lived experience, she can help others feel less alone and offer the same safe place to land that meant so much to her while honouring the memory of her remarkable parents.
